Kingussie Food on Film Festival is an annual

celebration of two things we all love:

FOOD and FILMS.

This year’s Kingussie Food on Film Festival, located in Kingussie High School, will be launching

The Highland Youth Award For Short Food Films

on the opening night, Friday 6th February, complete with red carpet, film industry judges and an Oscar presentation! With live music from local bands, and interest in the competition already coming in from schools across the Highlands, “OSCAR NIGHT” promises to be a special event for all involved.

The Food Hall on Saturday 7th February will showcase a host of local food producers, and once again the wonderful Lady Claire MacDonald will be demonstrating her cooking skills, alongside her head chef, Marcello Tully. There will also be cooking competitions for all ages - and some blind tastings for those who dare!

At Saturday night’s Film Night, hosted by BBC’s Craig Anderson, there will be a whole evening of films:

From 6.30pm Short Films from Scotland and elsewhere (with some directors there to talk about their films) will be screened, and entry to this will be free.

At 8pm there will be a screening of the gorgeous film “Chocolat” and there will be plenty of chocolate to eat as well!

The Documentary Film Strand has been moved to the summer, alongside Kingussie’s Local Food Market - there will be more details on this website nearer the time.

Set in the midst of the beautiful Cairngorms National Park, Kingussie is ideally suited for such a gathering, being on the main bus and rail routes for truly “green” travel, and boasting an excellent range of accommodation. Check out the website www.kingussie.co.uk for more information.

See you here in February!
