There will be three short
film competitions again in 2009, with cash prizes:
The Junior Short Film
Competition - open to High School students in the Highland
Region and Moray.
The Scottish Short
Film Competition - open to anyone living in Scotland, or
Scottish people abroad.
The International
Short Film Competition - open to anyone else, anywhere else
in the world!

JOINT WINNERS OF THE
JUNIOR SHORT FILM COMPETITION WERE:
“Everyone Wants A
Pizza Me” by Kingussie High School. Directed and edited by
Gary, acted by Gina, Kelly and Sam. ‘Peer pressure fails to sway
a girl who’s really thought through her ideas on food.
“A British History of
Food” by Fortrose Academy. Directed and edited by Neil Paul,
Matti Kremer and Peter Johnston.’ A brief history of the
developments of food in Britain. Main topics include: early
man’s diet, early farming, war (rationing), modern farming, our
own modern diet.’
“WINNER OF THE
SCOTTISH SHORT FILM COMPETITION WAS:
“Pan-fried”
Directed by Justin Molotnikov, Glasgow, ‘Breakfast is the
main meal of the day at Davie’s new workplace - The Local
Slaughterhouse.’This BAFTA award-winning autobiographical film
was funded by Scottish Screen and STV and premiered at The
Edinburgh International Film festival in 1998.
WINNER OF THE
INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION WAS:
“King of Pies”
directed by Katerina Helberg, Sweden. ‘Meet the man who has made
an art out of delivering cream pies in the most inventive ways.’
